With an over all position of 37 points to Land Roover Bar and 36 points to Oracle Team USA and 34 Emirates Team new Zealand it was an extremely excitement at the final day in the Americas Cup World Series, the biggest and most prestigious race in international sailing.
After the first day racing in Gothenburg the Oracle Team USA- which made a great effort with skipper Jimmy Spithill got as the winner of the day 20 points, and led with only 2 points over the chasing Land Rover Bar and skipper Ben Ainslie.
However Ben lost the win to Spithill on Saturday but his hunger for the victory was to be shown. Peter likes is a hard competitor according to Jimmy Spithill and showed how dangerous he is in the position.
Jimmy Spithill, the day before was far ahead from the other competitors on Saturday, however on Sunday Peter Burling, changed this.
Peter Burling, won the second race, final day, and nailed the third place in the first match.
The wind conditions where great for watching, it was sunny and lots of people at the cliffs, however for the sailors the conditions had been very different these days . Thursday was a very windy and rainy day and they faced strong winds they had to measure. Friday it was more wind but the sun was shining. At Saturday and Sunday were great days for people to come and watch, however the Sunday there was very little wind and it required a good tactic.
Surprisingly and Happily for all people watching at the cliffs, it was the Artemis Racing who won the first race of two on the final day Gothenburg. And according to skipper Nathan Outteridge they got a really good position in the start. Unfortunately the finished in last place and in total position as the sixth boat with their 23 points. But according to Nathan Outteridge they did very much enjoy sailing in Gothenburg with all people cheering for them.
