It was the final of the Stena Match Cup. It was the battle between the former winner Björn Hansen and Ian Williams .
Hansen got a very good start on Williams. Before the start, both of the boats tried to take position. It was tension and they laid close to the cliffs. They moved and watch each other very carefully. Williams got one penalty that influenced his game.
For sure the match was close, of course, it was an important flight for them both, competing about the trophy
They both went close to the first mark and watch each other carefully, fighting to be the first one. All the way until crossing the finishing line, they were close watching the other and one’s position very carefully. Hansen was the first one to cross the line and after that he was met by a strong sound from the Hansen hill supporters. He sailed down to meet his fans and later he went on to meet the audience on Marstrand, cheering for his victory.
It was a sunny and nice day, and Hansens victory was a shared joy for many people on Marstrand. His boat entered by media and instantly he gave interviews and lots of boat congratulated him.
Hansen received a check and a trophy and he receive applauds from the audience in a rain of the champagne.
